Your Holiday Security

Pure Luxury is a division of Gold Medal Travel Group plc. We are licensed by the Civil Aviation Authority under ATOL licence number 2916. We are also a fully bonded member of ABTA, number V6805. This allows us legally to sell to you the holidays described in this brochure.

Scheduled Flights

Flights may be booked, in conjunction with hotel and ground arrangements and the flight timings given when booking will be provisional. Final timings will be advised with your travel documents shortly before the departure date. On the date of travel, should there be any delay we must make it clear that any such delay is not a matter for which we have any liability to you. However, please refer to the travel delay section in your holiday insurance policy.

Departure Taxes

Where applicable, all UK and overseas departure taxes have been included within your holiday prices. The only overseas taxes we have not included are those which must be paid in the respective countries and cannot be collected in the UK prior to your departure.

Airline Special Requests

Most airlines provide a range of meals to cater for different dietary requirements. If you require a special meal type on your flights, please make this request at the time of booking with your Pure Luxury travel ambassador or your local travel agent if you have booked with them. Special meal types include: Child Meal, Vegetarian, Vegan, Kosher, Diabetic, Hindu Meal, Low Calorie Meal, Non-Lactose Meal plus many others. Please note that these meals cannot be guaranteed. Please also advise at the time of booking any other special requests such as Wheelchair Assistance (different levels) or Check-in Assistance.

Accommodation

Every effort has been made to describe each hotel and resort we feature as fairly and accurately as possible. Nevertheless hoteliers may change facilities/services after publication of this brochure. We expect hoteliers to inform us of any major changes without delay and where possible we will inform you prior to departure. Meals as specified are included only where stated, all other arrangements are on a room only basis. Please ask your Pure Luxury travel ambassador or your local travel agent, if you have booked with them, at the time of booking for details.

Building Works

Building works and noise are almost unavoidable in certain developing areas, resorts and cities. Unfortunately such development is not directly under our control nor do we necessarily receive advance notice of when they begin. Should we be aware of any building works that may reasonably be considered to adversely affect your enjoyment, your Pure Luxury travel ambassador or your local travel agent, if you have booked with them, will notify you as soon as possible. If necessary, we will offer you the opportunity to transfer to an alternative hotel or cancel the holiday without penalty.

Some public facilities at hotels such as restaurants, bars and swimming pools may only be available during midweek or high season. We will wherever possible inform you at the time of booking.

Air Conditioning

Air conditioning is a useful facility but please note this is generally functioning only during the summer and other dry periods and at the discretion of the hotel management.

Hotel Check In

On arrival your room will normally be available from 12 noon onwards. If you intend to arrive late due to a pre-arranged flight schedule or transfers, your personal Pure Luxury travel ambassador will advise the hotel of your late check-in. On the day of departure you will be asked to check out before 12 noon. If you have a late afternoon or evening flight departure you may wish to continue to occupy your room later than 12 noon. In this case the hotel may decide to apply additional charges, sometimes by prior arrangement, they may apply discretion, dependent on the availability of the room. If you wish to pre-book and guarantee an additional half-day’s occupancy, please ask your Pure Luxury travel ambassador or your local travel agent, if you have booked with them, who can arrange this for you.

Hotel Special Requests

For a facility or service not advertised in this brochure e.g. low floor, adjoining rooms etc. this request will be passed on to the relevant hotel. However, we cannot guarantee that it will be met and we have no liability to you. Your Pure Luxury travel ambassador or your local travel agent, if you have booked with them, will however, make every reasonable effort on your behalf. Some special requests may incur extra hotel charges e.g. room with sea view, where this is the case the supplementary charge will be added to your confirmation invoice.

Extra Adult

Where you require a room that accommodates a third adult, we will be happy to provide a costing based on triple occupancy. However, the third bed may be a folding or camp bed and this may sometimes restrict the available space in the room.

Child Reductions

Child reductions are generally available for those under the age of 12, at the date of travel. To obtain this reduction, children must share a room with two full paying adults and use existing bedding. Where an additional bed is required, your Pure Luxury travel ambassador or your local travel agent, if you have booked with them, will be pleased to advise the additional cost. Rooms booked with adults and children sharing are requested by fax to the hotel and therefore subject to suitable room availability.

Gala Dinners

Many hotels require the compulsory purchase of gala dinners over the Christmas and New Year period. Your Pure Luxury travel ambassador or your local travel agent, if you have booked with them, will confirm whether this requirement applies.

Non-Smoking Policies

Airlines: All of the airlines featured in this brochure do not permit smoking on their aircraft.

Airports: Some airports also have non-smoking policies, however some do provide designated smoking areas.

Hotels: Many of the hotels featured have non-smoking rooms. If you require a non-smoking room, please make your request at the time of booking. These requests cannot be guaranteed.

Travellers with Disabilities

We welcome travellers with disabilities on many of our holidays, but regret that in some cases we are unable to do so, due to the travel arrangements and/or the hotels that are featured. The suitability of any hotel or tour will depend on the nature of the disability and in some cases whether the person is accompanied by an able bodied companion. In order to ensure the maximum comfort, safety and enjoyment of your holiday we must ask all intending travellers to provide details of your disability and any special requirements before booking so that we can advise whether a particular holiday is suitable and where necessary, instruct our suppliers accordingly.

Luggage & Packing

Please ensure that the luggage you take with you is in good condition. The standard baggage allowance with most airlines is 20kg for Economy Class passengers and 30kg for Business Class/First Class passengers. One additional piece of hand luggage that will fit in the overhead lockers or under the seat in front can also be taken. Infants under two years do not receive any baggage allowance. Remember not to pack the following items in the luggage that you will be checking in: matches, necessary medication, uncooked foods, flight tickets, passports, visas, insurance certificates, travellers cheques, driving licence or any other travel documents. Further information can be obtained from your Pure Luxury travel ambassador or your local travel agent, if you have booked with them. In today’s ever changing security environment please ensure that you familiarise yourself with the airport’s policies on what you an take onto the aircraft as hand luggage.

Money

It is recommended that you take either US$ or £Sterling travellers cheques, both of which are available from banks, building societies and many ABTA Travel Agents.

These can be changed into cash at most overseas banks and major hotels. Credit cards are also widely accepted and we suggest that you do take at least one credit card with you.

Travel Documentation

Travel documentation will be despatched to you 3 weeks prior to departure. When you receive your travel documentation, you must check it carefully and notify us, or your travel agent straightaway if you think any of the details are inaccurate. We are not liable to you for any problems which arise or complaints which you may have as a result of holiday details having been noted incorrectly, if you do not advise us of these. The following information applies to holder’s of a British citizen’s passport.

You will need a full ten year passport to travel on all holidays. In order to comply with regulations imposed by certain countries we recommend that your passport should be valid for at least six months after the date of your return. Other passport holders should check with the Consulate or Embassy of the country to be visited for further information. Visa entry requirements vary for each destination, it is the responsibility of each individual travelling to ensure the correct documentation is obtained for entry. Your travel agent will be pleased to give any advice required, but again we ask that you contact the Consulate and Embassy of the country to be visited for up to date requirements.

Health Requirements

For all destinations featured, we strongly recommend that you consult your GP or local area health authority for up to-date medical advice well in advance of your departure date in case circumstances have changed. Health requirements are also given in the Department of Health’s leaflet T5 that can be ordered by telephoning 0800 555777

– free of charge. They can also be found by visiting the Department of Health’s website at www.dh.gov.uk. Most airlines enforce strict regulations for expectant mothers. Airlines generally allow expectant mothers to travel anytime up to 24 to 36 weeks into their pregnancy with a covering note from your GP. We strongly advise you to consult your local GP and the airline concerned if you plan to travel whilst pregnant.

Utilities

In most of the destinations we feature, supplies of water and electricity are very adequate and you will experience little difference from those at home in the UK. In some of the less developed and more remote destinations occasional power cuts and/or water restrictions may be experienced.

Drinking Water

In most locations you may find that water quality differs from that in the UK, however bottled water is available. Even when the quality is as high, some people can suffer from upset stomachs due to differences in the water. Please consult your doctor if you wish to obtain any further advice on this matter.

Driving

Driving standards in some countries may not be as high as you experience in the UK and rental policies can differ. If you do hire a car during your holiday we recommend that you select reputable companies, preferably those who provide assistance cover in case of breakdown or emergency.

If you wish to arrange car hire after leaving the UK we advise that you consult your overseas representative prior to doing so.

Prices, Brochure Accuracy, Changes and Errors

Every effort is made to provide as much information as possible about your holiday and to ensure the accuracy of the brochure and prices at the time of printing. Regrettably however, changes and errors do occasionally occur. You must therefore check all details of your holiday (including the price) at the time of booking. Where a change of season occurs within the duration of your holiday, a hotel supplement or deduction may apply. Please bear in mind that on occasions during the New Year periods, certain facilities at hotels, sightseeing tours, optional excursions, may be withdrawn or escorted coach tour and cruise itineraries may be altered. This may occur due to local public holidays, adverse weather conditions, essential maintenance work or other circumstances beyond our control.

Complaints whilst on Holiday

In the unlikely event that you will have a complaint or query whilst you are on your holiday please contact your overseas representative or local Hotel Manager who will provide any advice or assistance you may need. In most instances any complaint or query regarding your hotel accommodation can easily be resolved by the hotel itself. If your complaint is of a different nature, or anything that cannot be resolved by your hotel, we recommend that you first contact your local representative who may be able to assist further.

If necessary, either the hotel or the representative can contact us on your behalf.
